RJD Demands White Paper on Bihar Jobs, Rejects NDA's 50 Lakh Claim as 'Lies'
RJD Demands White Paper on Bihar Jobs, Rejects NDA Claim

RJD Challenges NDA Government to Release Comprehensive White Paper on Bihar Employment Data

As the budget session progresses in Patna, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has issued a significant demand to the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. The opposition party has called for the immediate release of a detailed white paper, submitted on affidavit, that comprehensively outlines all jobs provided and work opportunities created in Bihar between the years 2005 and 2025.

RJD Dismisses NDA's 50 Lakh Job Claim as "Bland Lies"

The RJD has categorically rejected the NDA's repeated assertions that their administration generated employment and work opportunities for approximately 50 lakh youths during the period from 2020 to 2025. RJD state spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan strongly denounced these claims, labeling them as habitual falsehoods propagated by the ruling coalition.

"The NDA leaders have been consistently claiming that their government provided 50 lakh jobs and work opportunities between 2020 and 2025, but this is nothing more than a bland lie," Gagan stated emphatically during a press interaction on Sunday.

Demand for Department-Wise Specifics and Beneficiary Names

Gagan elaborated that for the NDA's employment claims to hold any credibility, the government must publish a white paper containing department-wise specific details of all jobs granted and work opportunities generated. This document should explicitly mention the names of individual beneficiaries who received these employment opportunities.

Furthermore, the RJD spokesperson insisted that comprehensive data regarding vacancies filled during the earlier period of 1990 to 2005 should also be made publicly available for complete transparency and historical comparison.

Contrasting Recruitment Patterns: Regular vs. Contractual Appointments

Gagan presented a historical analysis of Bihar's recruitment patterns, asserting that during the 1990-2005 timeframe, regular appointments were systematically made against existing vacancies across multiple sectors. These included positions for lecturers, teachers, engineers, and police personnel, with approximately 1.90 lakh Shiksha Mitras appointed during this period.

The RJD spokesperson alleged a significant shift in recruitment strategy after 2005, claiming that job creation largely transitioned to contractual positions rather than permanent, regular appointments.

Grand Alliance Government's Recruitment Revival Claim

Gagan credited the Grand Alliance government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, with restarting the process for making regular appointments beginning in 2022. He attributed this revival to persistent pressure from Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

"It was under the Grand Alliance government led by Nitish Kumar that the process for making regular appointments started under the pressure of deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav from 2022," Gagan claimed, asserting that approximately 4.30 lakh posts have been filled since this policy shift.

CAG Report Cited to Challenge Skilling Claims

The RJD spokesperson referenced a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report that was tabled on December 18, 2025, using this official document to characterize the NDA government's skilling initiatives and related claims as "fake" and lacking substantive verification.

JD(U) Counter: Appointments Speak for Themselves

Responding to the RJD's allegations, Janata Dal (United) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar firmly rejected the opposition party's charges. Kumar maintained that the appointments made under the NDA government's tenure are visibly evident and speak for themselves throughout every village and town across Bihar.

"The appointments made under the NDA government speak for themselves in every village and town of the state," Kumar asserted, defending the ruling coalition's employment record without directly addressing the specific demand for a white paper.

The escalating debate over employment data transparency occurs against the backdrop of the ongoing budget session, highlighting employment generation as a critical political issue in Bihar with significant implications for both governance accountability and electoral narratives.
