Suvendu Adhikari inspects bungalow for new 'Janatar Darbar'

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Sunday visited the state irrigation department's bungalow located next to Sech Abasan in Salt Lake's FF block. Sources said the CM was there to assess the building's infrastructure and facilities, and that his weekly 'Janatar Darbar' programme may now be held from this bungalow instead of the BJP state office in Sector 5, where the public outreach programme has been hosted since the beginning of June.

Proximity to Indira Bhavan

The bungalow is also close to Indira Bhavan, once used as the official residence of former Chief Minister Jyoti Basu. There have recently been three inspections of Indira Bhavan, and sources indicate it might be considered as the residence of CM Adhikari. A state BJP leader said the CM was considering a change in venue for 'Janatar Darbar' due to space constraints at the BJP state office. The bungalow is already undergoing renovations.
