A 45-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and robbed by her tenant and his associate in the Motu Ka Bas area under Daulatpura police station limits near Chandwaji on the outskirts of Jaipur on Friday evening. The victim, identified as Rani, was left unconscious inside her house for nearly three hours before she could seek help from neighbors.
Incident Details
According to police, Rani had rented a room in her house to a labourer about three months ago. The tenant frequently brought friends to the premises. On Friday evening, the tenant allegedly called one of his friends to the house and planned the robbery. When the woman resisted, the accused overpowered her, strangled her, and brutally assaulted her. They smashed her head against a wall, causing severe injuries.
Robbery and Aftermath
The assailants snatched Rani's gold chain and mobile phone before fleeing the scene. She lay injured and unconscious until around 8:45 pm when she regained consciousness and alerted neighbors, who then informed the police. A police team arrived, shifted her to Barala Hospital for treatment, and noted that she was traumatized and unable to fully describe the events.
Police officials stated that preliminary investigation points to the involvement of the tenant and his associate. Teams are scanning CCTV footage and conducting raids to trace the accused. Further investigation is underway.
