According to Sonbhadra City Magistrate Randheer Mishra, the accident involved Jay Singh, a resident of Mokalpur in Jaunpur district, who was traveling to Robertsganj with his wife Sarita Singh on their motorcycle. As they passed through the Karki miner area, their bike collided violently with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The impact proved immediately fatal for Jay Singh and Sarita Singh, with both succumbing to their injuries at the scene of the accident. The couple's tragic demise has left family members and neighbors in profound grief.

The riders of the second motorcycle, identified as Chandu, Krishna, and Akshay, sustained grave injuries in the collision.
