CM Adityanath Hails Brahmos and Operation Sindoor
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday asserted that Brahmos missiles manufactured in the state compelled Pakistan to seek mercy. Addressing a public rally in Lucknow, he hailed the recent military operation codenamed Operation Sindoor as a decisive display of India's strength.
Brahmos Production in Uttar Pradesh
The Brahmos Aerospace joint venture has a production facility in Lucknow, which has been steadily ramping up output. According to Adityanath, the missiles produced here played a pivotal role in the operation, forcing Pakistan to backtrack. "The Brahmos made in Uttar Pradesh made Pakistan kneel and seek mercy," he said.
Operation Sindoor Details
Operation Sindoor, launched earlier this month, targeted terrorist infrastructure across the Line of Control. The Indian Army and Air Force used precision strikes, including Brahmos missiles, to neutralize launch pads and hideouts. Official sources confirmed that the operation achieved its objectives without any collateral damage.
Political Reactions
Adityanath's remarks drew sharp reactions from opposition parties, who accused him of politicizing military actions. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said, "The sacrifices of our soldiers should not be used for political mileage." However, BJP leaders defended the CM, stating that his comments reflected national pride.
Strategic Implications
Defense analysts noted that the Brahmos missile, with a range of 290 km and supersonic speed, has become a cornerstone of India's offensive capabilities. The Uttar Pradesh facility has significantly reduced dependence on imports and created thousands of jobs. Residents of Lucknow expressed pride in the Brahmos facility. "It's a matter of honor that our state is contributing to national security," said local businessman Ramesh Gupta. The CM's speech was met with loud cheers from the crowd, with many waving flags and chanting slogans.
