Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday morning personally listened to the grievances of citizens during his Janata Darshan program in Lucknow. The CM gave top priority to individuals who had attempted to reach out to him, ensuring their concerns were heard directly.
Focus on Night Shelters Amid Harsh Cold Wave
During the interaction, a complainant revealed he had arrived in the city a day in advance. This prompted CM Yogi Adityanath to immediately seek details about the arrangements at night shelters. With cold wave conditions intensifying across the state, the Chief Minister issued clear directives.
He instructed the Lucknow district administration and the urban development department to ensure all basic facilities are provided at both permanent and temporary night shelters statewide. Special emphasis was placed on shelters in Lucknow, acknowledging the daily influx of people from other districts.
Streamlining Grievance Redressal and Medical Assistance
The CM reiterated that all District Magistrates and Police Chiefs across Uttar Pradesh's 75 districts must remain accessible during the Janata Darshan period. He stressed that additional efforts are crucial during extreme weather to handle complaints efficiently, preventing people from making unnecessary trips to the state capital.
A significant number of complaints involved requests for financial assistance for medical treatments. Yogi Adityanath assured petitioners, accepted their applications, and directed officials to ensure funds are transferred directly to hospitals following due procedure to cover treatment costs for the needy. He mentioned that the government has been providing such assistance from day one and is committed to ensuring no one suffers due to lack of treatment.
Strict Action on Encroachment and Farmers' Issues
The Janata Darshan also saw complaints regarding land disputes and illegal encroachment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a firm stance on these matters, ordering investigations and directing authorities to take strong action. He clearly stated that illegal encroachment would not be tolerated.
Furthermore, after hearing complaints from farmers about paddy procurement, the CM immediately directed the concerned administration to resolve the issues promptly.
Throughout the session, CM Yogi Adityanath, along with his team, also distributed sweets and chocolates to the small children accompanying their parents.
