YS Sharmila to Embark on State-Wide 'Upaadhi Haami Parirakshana Yatra' in Andhra Pradesh
APCC chief YS Sharmila is set to launch her ambitious state-wide 'Upaadhi Haami Parirakshana Yatra' from Bandalapalli village in the Singanamala constituency of Anantapur district on February 2. This significant political initiative, announced on Friday, aims to traverse Andhra Pradesh in three distinct phases, engaging with the public on critical issues.
Detailed Schedule of the Three-Phase Yatra
The yatra has been meticulously planned to cover a wide array of constituencies across the state. Phase 1 will run from February 2 to 7, encompassing key areas such as Singanamala, Kalyanadurgam, Puttaparty, Dharmavaram, Madanapalli, Punganuru, Pileru, Palamaneru, GD Nellore, Tirupati, Srikalahasti, and Satyavedu. This initial leg is designed to set the tone for the campaign, reaching out to diverse communities in the region.
Phase 2 is scheduled for February 12 to 14, commencing at Munagiolu and progressing through Sarvepalli, Kavali, Kondepi, Pamuru, Kanigiri, Pulivendula, and Kadapa town. This segment will focus on central and southern parts of Andhra Pradesh, ensuring broad coverage.
Phase 3 will take place from February 17 to 20, starting at Kodumuru and covering Pattikonda, Dhone, Allagadda, Vinukonda, Narasaraopeta, Tadikonda, and Tenali. This final phase will conclude the yatra, reinforcing the message across northern constituencies.
Engagement and Objectives of the Yatra
During the yatra, Sharmila will conduct Rachabanda meetings in the mornings and market meetings in the evenings. These interactions are intended to facilitate direct dialogue with the public, where she will explain how the VB-GRAM G 2025 bill, passed by the BJP-led NDA government to replace the MGNREGA Act, undermines the wage guarantee scheme originally introduced by the Congress. This focus highlights the yatra's core mission: to protect and advocate for workers' rights and social welfare programs.
In preparation for the yatra, Sharmila convened a strategic meeting with district presidents, in-charges, vice presidents, general secretaries, and party frontal wings. This gathering was crucial for reviewing preparations and devising effective strategies to ensure the yatra's success, demonstrating a coordinated effort within the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee.
The 'Upaadhi Haami Parirakshana Yatra' represents a significant political mobilization effort by YS Sharmila, aiming to raise awareness and garner support against policies perceived as detrimental to public welfare. By covering extensive ground across Andhra Pradesh, the yatra seeks to strengthen grassroots connections and amplify the Congress party's stance on key issues.
