In the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Surjya Rongphar emerged victorious from the Bokajan constituency. He secured 69,851 votes, defeating his closest rival, Congress candidate Raton Engti, who received 52,385 votes. The winning margin was 17,466 votes.
