Veteran spinner Piyush Chawla has stressed the importance of staying together and playing with freedom as the Delhi Capitals look to turn their IPL campaign around. In a recent interaction, Chawla shared his thoughts on the team's current mindset and the path forward.

Chawla, who has been a part of multiple IPL franchises, believes that cohesion within the squad is paramount. "It is important to stay together as a unit," he said. "When you have a bunch of players who trust each other and share a common goal, it reflects on the field."
The 35-year-old leg-spinner, known for his experience and calm demeanor, emphasized that the team must back each other through thick and thin. He noted that external distractions can be minimized when the team remains united.
Playing with Freedom
According to Chawla, players need the freedom to express themselves on the field. "When you play with fear, you are not able to give your best. The management has given us the liberty to play our natural game, and that is crucial," he explained.
He added that the coaching staff, led by Ricky Ponting, has created an environment where players can thrive without the pressure of results. This approach, Chawla believes, will eventually yield positive outcomes.
