Indian spinner Shree Charani has etched her name into the record books by claiming the most wickets by an Indian in a single ICC Women's T20 World Cup edition. She surpassed the previous record held by Poonam Yadav, who had taken 10 wickets in the 2019/20 edition.

Record-Breaking Performance Against Bangladesh

Charani, who is currently the world number one T20I bowler, achieved this milestone during India's group stage match against Bangladesh in Manchester on Thursday. She delivered an impressive spell of 2/21 in four overs, dismissing Nahida Akter and Shorna Akter.

With this performance, Charani now has 12 wickets in four matches in the tournament, at an average of 7.08 and an economy rate of 5.31, with her best figures being 4/19. She leads the wicket-taking charts in the competition so far.
