Two killed as bike hit by vehicle falls into gorge

Kanpur: Two men on a motorcycle were killed after their bike was struck by an unidentified vehicle near Kayanchhi village on Udi-Bhareh road, close to Bhareh police station limits in Chakarnagar area of Etawah, late Tuesday evening. The impact caused them to fall into a 20-foot deep gorge. Police transported both to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead upon arrival.

Incident Details

The two men were returning home from Bhareh area, where they had gone to purchase cattle. As they reached Udi-Bhareh road near Kayanchchi village, an unidentified vehicle rammed their motorcycle. The collision was so severe that the bike went out of control and plunged into a roadside gorge. Both individuals died on the spot.

Victims Identified

Police identified the deceased as Kalyan Ajit Singh, 32, a resident of Nimri, Sahaswan police station, and Sumit, 25, son of Raghuvar Singh. Personnel from Bhareh and Chakarnagar police stations rushed both men in a private vehicle to the community health centre in Rajpur, where a medical team declared them dead. Authorities inspected the accident site, took the damaged motorcycle into custody, and launched a search for the unidentified vehicle.

Both men were married. On Wednesday morning, police completed the panchnama and sent both bodies for post-mortem, as confirmed by police station in-charge Jagdish Bhati.
