Cricket Prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi Skips CBSE Class X Exams for Training
In a decision that highlights his rapid ascent in Indian cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the teenage sensation from Samastipur district in Bihar, will not appear for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X examinations this year. The gifted batsman has opted out due to an intense schedule of training sessions, camps, and tournaments, coupled with security concerns at the examination centre.
Intense Cricket Schedule Takes Priority
Although his admit card had been issued and the examination centre formally allotted, Suryavanshi will not sit for the exams this year, according to a source from the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA). The young cricketer's calendar has been dominated by high-performance camps and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) events, leaving him with minimal time to prepare for the academic assessments.
Those close to him emphasize that his immediate priority is to solidify his position in competitive cricket and continue delivering match-winning performances. This strategic focus comes after a string of commanding displays in the Under-19 World Cup, where he played a pivotal role in India's trophy victory.
Security Concerns and Crowd Management
Rakesh Tiwari, former president of BCA, explained the situation further. "Around 2000-3000 people gather to see Suryavanshi wherever he goes. He is one of the most favourite cricketers of the country today. We are thinking of alternate arrangements for him so that he could sit his exams later," Tiwari stated. The CBSE Class X examinations are scheduled from February 17 to March 11, but security logistics at the designated centre, Poddar International School in the city, posed challenges.
Adarsh Kumar Pintu, director of Modesty School in Tajpur where Suryavanshi studies, confirmed that the cricketer's examination form had been duly filled and his admit card issued. "After discussions with Suryavanshi's father, it emerged that due to his busy schedule, he will not be able to appear in the examination this year. Currently, Suryavanshi is completely focused on cricket and is busy preparing for upcoming tournaments," Pintu added.
Rising Star and Future Prospects
Suryavanshi's ability to anchor innings under pressure while accelerating when required has drawn comparisons with established stars, and he is widely regarded as the future of Indian cricket. His meteoric rise has inspired aspiring cricketers across Bihar, with crowds gathering in thousands wherever he travels for a glimpse of the young batter.
For now, the classroom will wait as the pitch calls louder. Suryavanshi is answering with his bat, prioritizing his burgeoning cricket career over academic examinations this year. The BCA and educational authorities are exploring options for him to complete his exams at a later date, ensuring his development both on and off the field.
