The 4th Chandigarh Premier League (CPL) final will see debutant Rock Garden Warriors take on defending champions Chandigarh Kings at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 3, Panchkula, on Friday.
Warriors' Semifinal Victory
Rock Garden Warriors secured their place in the final with a thrilling five-wicket victory over Capital Strikers. Chasing a target of 160, opener Aarash Bhandari led the charge with a brilliant 70, while Raman Bishnoi contributed 39, guiding the Warriors to the final with ease. Earlier, Capital Strikers had posted 159 on the board, thanks to skipper Arjun Azad's 47 and Nehaj Pajni's 36.
Key Players for Warriors
In the final, the Warriors will heavily rely on their in-form opener and wicketkeeper-batter Aarush Bhandari, who has amassed 449 runs in the tournament. Raman Bishnoi (282 runs) and skipper Deepender Kush (272 runs) also carry significant responsibility in the team's quest for the title. In the bowling department, Yuvraj Singh, with 14 wickets, and Chetan Reddu, with 10 wickets, will be their best bet to contain the Kings' batting lineup.
Kings' Road to Final
Defending champions Chandigarh Kings had already booked their place in the final by defeating HIIMS Hawks in the first semifinal. The side is led by captain Shivam Bhambri, who is currently the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 573 runs. Bhambri has also made valuable contributions with the ball, claiming seven wickets. The team will also rely on the batting strength of Aarnav Bansal (329), Akshit Rana (266), and Bhagmender Lather (201). Rohit Dhanda is the leading wicket-taker for the Kings with 14 wickets, while Gaurav Gambhir has bagged 12.
Final Match Details
The final match will be attended by Administrator of Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria, along with H Rajesh Prasad, Chief Secretary of the Chandigarh Administration, and actor Aparshakti Khurana. The match promises to be a thrilling contest between the debutant Warriors and the experienced Kings.
