Mizoram Sports Minister Congratulates Women's Hockey Team for Nations Cup Victory
Mizoram sports minister Lalnghinglova Hmar on Sunday extended his congratulations to the Indian women's hockey team for their 2-0 victory over New Zealand in the final of the Nations Cup, held in Auckland. The win marked a historic achievement for the team, securing their place in the FIH Pro League, the premier international league in women's hockey.
In a statement shared on his social media handle, Hmar expressed particular pride in the contributions of two players from Mizoram: Lalremsiami Hmar and Lalthantluangi. Lalremsiami was awarded the 'Player of the Match' for her outstanding performance in the final. "I am especially proud of Mizoram's own Lalremsiami Hmar and Lalthantluangi, whose contributions have helped India achieve this historic success," Hmar said.
Empowering Mizoram Sports Initiative and Olympic 2036 Vision
Hmar highlighted the state's commitment to hockey as a priority discipline under the 'Empowering Mizoram Sports' initiative.
