Buxar: Superintendent of Police (SP) Shubham Arya on Friday distributed 64 recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners, with an estimated combined value of approximately Rs 13 lakh. The handover ceremony marked the 19th phase of the ongoing 'Operation Muskan', a campaign aimed at recovering lost and stolen mobile devices.
Addressing the recipients, SP Arya highlighted that the Buxar Police have successfully recovered and returned a total of 1,605 lost or stolen mobile phones to their original owners since the inception of the campaign. He emphasized that 'Operation Muskan' has played a pivotal role in strengthening public trust in the police force. The recoveries were made possible through continuous technical investigations and coordinated efforts by dedicated police teams.
The SP explained that the recovery process is based on complaints lodged at various police stations across the district. He assured that the drive will continue, and the police will soon initiate efforts to recover stolen or lost motorcycles as well. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and relief upon receiving their phones.
Ravi Kumar, a resident of Buxar town, said, 'I had almost lost hope of getting my phone back. I am thankful to Buxar Police for their prompt action.' Another beneficiary, Neha Kumari, added, 'Getting my mobile phone back gives me a big relief. The police worked sincerely and helped us a lot.'
The event underscores the police's commitment to citizen service and the effectiveness of systematic recovery operations. The recovered phones were verified and handed over after proper documentation, ensuring they reached their owners without delay.
