DOMBIVLI: A moment of immense pride for 23-year-old Sohan Anil Manjrekar, who achieved All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the Chartered Accountancy (CA) final examination, was tinged with a profound sense of loss. As the family celebrated his remarkable feat, they could not help but remember his mother, Shweta, who succumbed to illness during the pandemic.
A Stellar Achievement
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared the results on Thursday. Manjrekar, a resident of Dombivli, scored an impressive 78.83%, placing him among the nation's top performers. Speaking to the media, Manjrekar expressed his delight, saying, "I secured AIR 6 in the CA intermediate examination and was hoping for a top-10 finish again. Achieving AIR 3 has exceeded my expectations, and I am overjoyed."
Family's Pride and Pain
His father, Anil Manjrekar, who works as an accountant at a partnership firm in Matunga, attributed the success to years of dedication and sacrifice. "Sohan often studied until the early hours of the morning. Today, I am proud that my son has made a mark across the country," he said. However, he admitted that the happiness felt incomplete. "My wife passed away during Covid. If she were alive, she would have been the happiest person to witness our son's success. We miss her the most on this special day," he added emotionally.
Key to Success: Discipline and Consistency
Manjrekar emphasized that discipline and consistency were crucial in his journey. "I studied for eight to ten hours daily, maintaining focus on my goal," he stated. He also credited his teachers for their unwavering guidance throughout the demanding course.
