IIIT Allahabad Hosts VLSI Summer Training 2026

Prayagraj: The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) is set to conduct the 11th edition of its summer training programme on VLSI design (STPVD 2026), scheduled from June 19 to July 18, 2026.

STPVD 2026 aims to offer participants extensive practical exposure to analog and digital integrated circuit (IC) design, helping them establish a solid foundation in microelectronics and Very-Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) technology. The event is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, UP Section Chapter.

Over 80 BTech and BE students from various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand, will take part in the programme.

The training curriculum encompasses analog and digital IC design, FPGA implementation using Verilog HDL, hands-on sessions with industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools like Cadence and Synopsys, and an introduction to semiconductor fabrication methodologies.

The inaugural ceremony will feature a keynote address by Satya Narayan Gupta, President of the VLSI Society of India, on the topic “VLSI Industry Insights: Trends and Opportunities.” Gupta will provide valuable perspectives on industry expectations, emerging career opportunities, and the skills required for aspiring VLSI professionals in the rapidly evolving semiconductor sector.

The programme is expected to serve as a platform for students to interact with leading experts from academia and industry while gaining practical experience with state-of-the-art VLSI design tools and technologies. With India’s growing focus on semiconductor manufacturing and chip design under the National Semiconductor Mission, STPVD 2026 aims to equip young engineers with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the future of the semiconductor industry.
