The Directorate General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will host a high-level industry consultation at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) in Kanpur on Friday. This event is considered a significant step toward building a globally competitive aerospace skills ecosystem in India.
Key Participants and Focus
More than 30 senior industry leaders, CEOs, and policy experts are expected to participate in the consultation. The primary focus will be on the establishment of a National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) for Aeronautics and Allied Sectors — a first-of-its-kind institution in the country.
Development Under PM-SETU Scheme
The proposed NCoE at NSTI Kanpur is being developed under Component-II of the PM-SETU Scheme, the Government of India’s flagship initiative aimed at transforming Industrial Training Institutes into modern, sector-specific centres of vocational excellence.
