Sadhguru at IIT2026: India is a civilisation, not a nation

At the IIT2026 Global Conference in California, Isha founder Sadhguru stated that India should be perceived "not as a nation, but as a civilisation," underscoring what he described as its enduring legacy of integrating spiritual exploration with intellectual and scientific endeavours.

Addressing an audience of over 2,500 participants, including entrepreneurs and technologists, he discussed the rapid pace of global transformation and the expanding influence of artificial intelligence. He observed that technological progress could compress generational changes into shorter periods, thereby increasing the need for human clarity and stability.

Sadhguru further remarked that while machines may increasingly take over data processing and memory functions, human capabilities should transcend mere information handling. Describing the human system as a "sophisticated technology," he stressed the importance of comprehending human potential amidst swift technological evolution.
