BSNL Rs 225 Plan: 30-Day Validity, Unlimited Calls, 75GB Data
BSNL Rs 225 Plan: Unlimited Calls & 75GB Data for 30 Days

State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 225, offering 30-day validity with unlimited calling and 75GB of total data. The plan is aimed at budget-conscious users seeking long-term voice and data benefits without frequent recharges.

Plan Details and Benefits

The Rs 225 plan provides subscribers with unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls to any network across India for 30 days. Along with voice benefits, users get 75GB of high-speed 4G data, which translates to 2.5GB per day. Additionally, the plan includes 100 free SMS per day, making it suitable for users who rely on text communication.

According to BSNL's official website, the plan also comes with a complimentary subscription to BSNL's own OTT platform, BSNL TV, which offers access to live TV channels and on-demand content. However, the plan does not include any additional benefits like access to premium OTT apps such as Amazon Prime or Zee5, which are bundled with some higher-value plans.

Comparison with Competitors

The Rs 225 plan positions BSNL competitively against private players like Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea. For comparison, Jio's Rs 299 plan offers 2GB/day data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS/day for 28 days, along with JioCinema and JioTV access. Airtel's Rs 299 plan provides 2GB/day data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS/day for 28 days, with Airtel Xstream Play subscription. BSNL's plan undercuts these by Rs 74 while offering the same daily data allowance and a longer validity of 30 days instead of 28 days.

However, BSNL's 4G network coverage remains a concern in many regions, as the company is still in the process of expanding its high-speed data services. Subscribers in areas with strong BSNL 4G signals can benefit significantly from this cost-effective plan.

How to Recharge

Users can recharge with the Rs 225 plan through multiple channels: the official BSNL website, BSNL mobile app, third-party payment platforms like Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe, or by visiting a nearby BSNL retail outlet. The plan code is typically listed under the 'Data Add-on' or 'Combo' category on recharge portals.

BSNL has also launched other plans in recent months to retain its customer base, including a Rs 97 plan with 10GB data and 30-day validity, and a Rs 99 plan with unlimited calls and 1GB data for 28 days. The Rs 225 plan is expected to appeal to users who require moderate daily data usage for social media, browsing, and messaging, along with reliable voice connectivity.
