Ranchi: The three-day Krishi Vyapar Mela concluded on Thursday with robust farmer participation, active technology dissemination, and rising interest—particularly among youth—in agriculture and allied sectors. Exhibitors noted that the fair served as an effective platform to connect with farmers, share technical knowledge, and encourage improved farming practices.
Exhibitor Highlights
Stalls covered horticulture, fisheries, poultry, animal husbandry, fertilisers, agricultural equipment, and value-added farm products. Farmers and visitors engaged with experts to learn about new technologies, cultivation methods, and market opportunities.
Representatives from ICAR-RCER stated they participated to disseminate technologies and supply quality planting materials and seedlings at affordable rates. They added that the event enabled them to reach thousands of visitors and build new contacts.
SIDHKOFED emphasized strengthening farmer engagement and promoting organized marketing of minor forest produce by linking farmers to cooperative networks and directly to industries. The organization reported heavy inquiry volumes, with promotional materials often depleted by evening.
IFFCO officials observed a positive farmer response to displays of fertilisers, urea, and agricultural tools, with discounts offered on selected products.
Visitor Feedback
Visitors remarked that the fair helped them understand modern agricultural practices and explore opportunities in fisheries, poultry, horticulture, and value-added products.
Overall Impact
Exhibitors described the event as both a marketplace and a knowledge-sharing and networking platform. Participants expressed hope that similar fairs continue to boost technology adoption, market linkages, and income opportunities for farmers.
