Indore-Ujjain Corridor Bhoomi Pujan on June 20

The foundation stone laying ceremony (bhoomi pujan) for the Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Corridor project will be held on June 20 at Chandrawatiganj in Indore district. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar will preside over the event.

This specialized infrastructure asset is being expedited to accommodate the high influx of pilgrims and tourists for Simhastha 2028. Spanning an estimated length of 48.10 km, the four-lane project will operate as an access-controlled highway structured with scope for future expansion. The alignment begins near the Pitra Parvat region in Indore and terminates at the Simhastha Bypass area in Ujjain.

Once operational, the dedicated corridor will bypass existing traffic gridlocks, reducing commuter transit time between Indore and Ujjain to approximately 30 to 35 minutes. Beyond easing traffic volumes on the current highway network, the corridor is designed to provide direct connectivity between the Indore Airport, Ujjain, the Mahakal Lok complex, and Omkareshwar.
