Bhopal Greeted by Fog and Showers as Visibility Plummets to 50 Meters
The city of Bhopal witnessed a dramatic shift in weather conditions early on Tuesday, with light and uneven drizzles marking the onset of rainfall after midnight. As residents awoke, they were met with a combination of dense fog and persistent showers, significantly reducing visibility across the region.
Temperature Dip and Foggy Conditions
The day temperature in Bhopal dropped notably, recording at 24.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the normal mark. In contrast, the night temperature was measured at 13.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The dense fog enveloping the city led to visibility levels as low as 50 meters in the morning, with conditions fluctuating between 50 and 200 meters throughout the day.
Widespread Weather Activity Across Madhya Pradesh
Thunderstorms, lightning, and rainfall were reported in numerous districts including Mandsaur, Ratlam, Jhabua, Agar, Rajgarh, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, and Bhopal. Notably, hailstorms were observed in Gwalior, Niwari, Chhatarpur, and Datia, adding to the severe weather conditions.
Fog intensity varied across the state, with very dense fog in Gwalior, dense fog in Bhopal, and shallow fog in Datia, Raisen, Ujjain, Indore, and Chhatarpur. Rajgarh recorded a minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, highlighting the cooler trends in some areas.
Weather Forecast and Warnings
According to the meteorological department, Bhopal can expect a partly cloudy sky on Wednesday with thunderstorms, lightning, and light rainfall. Shallow to moderate fog is anticipated during the morning hours. The forecast predicts day and night temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively, with an average wind speed of twelve kilometers per hour.
For the state, the meteorological department has issued warnings of thunderstorms, lightning, and dense to moderate fog for districts including Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Rewa, Satna, and Panna. Residents are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on weather developments.
