New Delhi: Delhi-NCR witnessed a sudden weather shift on Thursday afternoon, as a hailstorm and rain brought much-needed relief from the prevailing heatwave conditions. Dark clouds enveloped large parts of the region, with rain and storm activity beginning around 3:30 PM.
Yellow Alert Remains in Effect
The change in weather comes even as the city remained under a yellow alert for heatwave conditions. Despite the relief, authorities continue to advise caution.
April Temperatures Lower Than Last Year
While April did experience heatwave spells, average temperatures were lower compared to the same period last year. Meteorological officials attributed this to intermittent rain and overcast conditions at the beginning and end of the month, which helped prevent a sharper rise in average temperatures.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions. The sudden shift serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of spring weather in the region.
