The tragic event occurred in Chhajmalwala village within the Rehar area, as confirmed by forest officials on Friday.

According to the victim's wife, Pyaro Kaur, her husband Jaswant Singh had spent Wednesday night in a temporary hut on his agricultural field. Early on Thursday morning, Singh heard unusual movement nearby and stepped outside to investigate. To his horror, he encountered a wild elephant in close proximity.
The situation turned deadly when the elephant suddenly became aggressive. The massive animal attacked Singh, repeatedly lifting him off the ground and throwing him with tremendous force. The violent assault left the elderly farmer with catastrophic injuries.
Rescue Efforts and Fatal Outcome
Family members and neighbors rushed to the scene upon hearing Singh's desperate cries for help. They managed to drive the elephant back into the nearby forest, but the intervention came too late to save Singh's life.
The injured farmer was immediately transported to a private medical clinic in Chhatri Patta village. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, doctors declared Singh dead upon arrival. His body was subsequently sent for postmortem examination to document the exact nature and extent of his injuries.
