EPFO Mysuru Hosts PM-VBRY Outreach Programme Friday

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Mysuru will conduct an outreach programme on Friday as part of the nationwide rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), an employment-linked incentive scheme designed to promote formal job creation. This initiative aligns with the central government's efforts to boost employment through financial incentives.

National Event and Incentive Disbursement

On the same day, the Ministry of Labour and Employment will host a national PM-VBRY event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the programme, the Prime Minister is expected to disburse incentives worth approximately Rs 2,400 crore to beneficiaries via direct benefit transfer (DBT). This disbursement aims to support both employers and employees under the scheme.

Mass Participation Across India

An estimated 65,000 to 70,000 individuals will participate in simultaneous events nationwide. This includes around 9,000 employer representatives and nearly 45,000 employees, highlighting the scheme's extensive reach and impact on the formal employment sector.

Mysuru Region Outreach Event

GS Reddy, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, announced that the Mysuru region—comprising Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu districts—will host one of 200 outreach events planned across the country. The regional programme will take place at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering. Expected attendees include Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar, Chamaraja MLA K Harishgowda, and other elected representatives.

Scheme Details and Eligibility

Reddy clarified that PM-VBRY does not directly provide jobs but incentivizes businesses to create new employment opportunities through financial rewards. According to EPFO data, 3,351 establishments in the Mysuru region are eligible under the scheme, with nearly 6.48 lakh employees expected to benefit. This initiative is part of the government's broader strategy to stimulate job growth and formalize the workforce.

Muralidar, in charge of Kodagu, was also present during the announcement. The outreach programme aims to educate employers and employees about the scheme's benefits and application process.
