Nissan Gravite Budget MPV Makes Its Debut in India with Aggressive Pricing
Nissan India has officially launched the highly anticipated Gravite budget MPV in the country, marking a significant entry into the affordable family vehicle segment. The model debuts with an introductory price starting at an attractive Rs 5.65 lakh, ex-showroom, as part of a special launch programme valid for a limited period. This strategic pricing is complemented by an aggressive launch package that notably includes zero service cost for five years, enhancing its value proposition for cost-conscious buyers.
Distinctive Design and Platform Architecture
The Nissan Gravite is built on the CMF-A+ platform, which it shares with the Renault Triber, resulting in similar overall proportions. However, the Gravite carves out its own identity with a distinct Nissan design language. The front fascia features a redesigned grille with a horizontal pattern, sleek headlamps integrated with daytime running lights (DRLs), and "Gravite" lettering prominently displayed on the bonnet.
Further design highlights include a refreshed bumper adorned with silver accents and a faux skid plate, adding a touch of ruggedness. The side profile is accentuated by newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels and functional roof rails, while the rear sports sharp taillamps connected by a chrome strip, along with silver bumper accents and Gravite badging. Buyers can choose from five colour options: Forest Green, Onyx Black, Blade Silver, Metallic Grey, and Storm White.
Powertrain and Performance Specifications
Under the hood, the Gravite is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed EZ-Shift AMT, catering to diverse driving preferences. Nissan claims impressive fuel efficiency figures of 19.3 kmpl for the manual variant and 19.6 kmpl for the EZ-Shift AMT version.
In a move to expand its appeal, Nissan has announced plans to introduce a CNG dual-cylinder kit soon, potentially offering an even more economical running cost alternative. The Gravite is offered in eight variants across two gearbox options, including Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and a Limited Launch Edition that brings additional styling touches.
Feature-Rich Cabin and Advanced Safety
Inside, the cabin boasts a dual-tone black and white theme with suede elements and unique stitching details, creating a premium ambiance. The MPV features a flexible seven-seat layout, ensuring practicality for larger families. Key amenities include an 8.0-inch infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, JBL speakers, ambient lighting, an air purifier, wireless charging, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers.
Comfort is further enhanced with neck and lumbar support, a dual HVAC system equipped with eight AC vents, and dedicated third-row air vents. Storage is abundant, with over 31 litres of space distributed across the cabin, including upper and lower gloveboxes, seat pockets, door storage, and cupholders.
On the safety front, the Gravite comes well-equipped with six airbags as standard, along with a comprehensive suite of features such as TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, ABS, and hill start assist, ensuring peace of mind for occupants.
Launch Benefits and Booking Incentives
Nissan is rolling out additional benefits under its launch programme to attract early adopters. The first 5,000 bookings qualify for special offers, including loyalty programme benefits, exclusive upgrade schemes, and attractive finance options starting at 5.55% ROI through Nissan Finance.
The company provides a standard warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km, accompanied by two free services within the first 10,000 km. Customers have the option to extend the warranty up to 10 years or 200,000 km and opt for prepaid maintenance plans of up to 5 years or 50,000 km, adding long-term value and convenience.
With its competitive pricing, feature-packed interior, robust safety features, and enticing launch benefits, the Nissan Gravite positions itself as a compelling choice in the budget MPV segment, aiming to capture the attention of Indian families seeking versatility and affordability.
