Dehradun Imposes Restrictions Around NEET Re-exam Centres

Authorities in Dehradun have barred gatherings and imposed curbs around 16 examination centres for the NEET re-examination. The move aims to prevent any disruptions or malpractices during the test.

Officials have warned that any individual or group found violating these guidelines will face immediate prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The section pertains to disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.

The NEET re-exam is being conducted following a paper leak incident that affected the original examination. The Uttarakhand government has taken stringent measures to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the test.

Local police have been deployed in large numbers around the designated centres. Barricades have been set up, and only candidates with valid admit cards and exam staff are being allowed entry.

Parents and guardians have been advised not to congregate near the centres. The district administration has also imposed Section 144 in the vicinity of the exam venues, prohibiting assembly of four or more people.

The NEET re-examination is scheduled to take place on June 23. Around 4,000 candidates from Dehradun are expected to appear at the 16 centres.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activity. The measures are part of a broader effort to uphold the integrity of the examination process.
