Police, intelligence agencies, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) remained on high alert ahead of the NEET re-exam on Sunday, conducting inspections at examination centres across Jaipur to prevent paper leaks and cheating while keeping suspected operatives under watch.
Security Audits and Inspections
Acting on directions from Rajasthan Police Headquarters, police teams carried out searches and security audits at examination centres across the city on Saturday. Officials from the city police, education department, and other agencies inspected several centres and reviewed security arrangements. One such inspection was carried out at Govt Higher Secondary School in the Brahmpuri area.
Officials examined arrangements related to candidate entry, security screening, biometric verification, question paper security, and emergency response protocols. Staff deployed at the centres were issued directions to ensure the examination was conducted smoothly and without disruption.
Questioning and Surveillance
Sources said intelligence agencies, with assistance from local police, questioned around 30 individuals in Jaipur over the past few days as part of preventive surveillance measures. Five people were questioned on Friday alone. However, no arrests were made, and all those questioned were released after interrogation.
According to sources, inputs gathered during the exercise led agencies to place more than a dozen individuals under surveillance. Their activities, contacts, and social media networks were being closely monitored. Intelligence agencies were also collecting field inputs to prevent any attempt at organised cheating, paper leaks, or disruption of the examination process.
Special Teams and Deployment
Officials said the SOG constituted special teams to monitor suspicious individuals and track social media activity. Police teams were deployed in Jaipur and Sikar, where suspects were arrested in connection with alleged irregularities during the previous NEET examination.
“No arrests have been made so far, but we are keeping a close watch on certain suspects who were allegedly involved in such activities in the past,” a senior police officer said.
Examination Centres and Preparations
More than 100 examination centres were set up in Jaipur. Officials from multiple agencies conducted security audits and reviewed the verification system, candidate screening, question paper security, and emergency response arrangements at these centres.
