Chennai: A day before the NEET re-exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday conducted a mock drill for delivering question papers and collecting answer sheets, using escorts to prevent any leak. Exam centres were brought under CCTV surveillance to curb malpractices during the exam.
Security Arrangements and Candidate Numbers
Officials stated that exam centres will have multi-layered security on the exam day. As many as 1,42,489 students will take the NEET re-exam from 307 centres across Tamil Nadu on Sunday. In Chennai, more than 20,000 candidates are expected to appear at 43 centres.
Exam Timings and Admit Card Rules
According to the NTA, candidates will be allowed into exam halls from 11 am to 1:30 pm. The examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Candidates must carry their admit cards along with any one original ID card. They have been advised to wear light clothing with half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts and trousers. Slippers and low-heeled footwear are preferred.
Prohibited Items
The NTA has prohibited electronic devices including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth accessories, earphones, large belt buckles, and heavy jewellery inside the exam hall.
