The National Testing Agency conducted the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday, with over 22.79 lakh candidates appearing across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations. The exam concluded smoothly under heightened security measures designed to prevent malpractice and ensure transparency.

Heightened Security and Smooth Conduct

The re-examination featured biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, strict frisking, heavy police deployment, and signal jammers at all centres. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the arrangements from the NTA headquarters in Delhi's Okhla during the exam. According to sources cited by ANI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delayed his departure from Delhi Airport to avoid inconveniencing students travelling to exam centres.

Student Feedback on Difficulty Levels

Candidates reported that Biology was the easiest section, while Physics was widely considered the most difficult and time-consuming. Many students noted that the Physics paper was tougher compared to the May 3 test. An entry-related dispute involving a burqa-wearing candidate was reported at an examination centre in Rajasthan's Ajmer, but no major disruptions were recorded.
