IAF AFCAT 02/2026 Registration Closes Today

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will close the registration process for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/2026 today, June 19, 2026. Candidates who wish to apply for recruitment in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches must submit their applications through the official AFCAT portal before the deadline.

Vacancy Details

The recruitment drive is being conducted for 379 vacancies under AFCAT Entry, National Cadet Corps (NCC) Special Entry, and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score Entry. Selected candidates will join courses scheduled to commence in July 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the available posts. Candidates applying for Ground Duty Technical positions should have a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree, while applicants for Non-Technical posts must possess a graduation degree in the relevant discipline.

For the Flying Branch, candidates should be between 20 and 24 years of age. Applicants for Ground Duty Technical and Non-Technical branches should be between 20 and 26 years of age. The age limit is calculated as on July 1, 2027.

Application Fee

Candidates applying through AFCAT Entry are required to pay an application fee of Rs 550 plus applicable GST. No application fee is required for candidates applying through NCC Special Entry or GATE Score Entry.

Selection Process

The selection process includes an online AFCAT examination, followed by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview process, document verification, and a medical examination. The Indian Air Force has stated that recruitment will be carried out strictly on the basis of merit. Candidates appearing before the Air Force Selection Board for the first time may also be eligible for travel allowance as per the conditions mentioned in the official notification.
