UP to renovate 25 schools in Varanasi at Rs 25 crore

The Uttar Pradesh government has devised a comprehensive plan for the renovation, repair, restoration, and reconstruction of 25 government primary and secondary schools in the Varanasi district. The project, estimated to cost approximately Rs 25 crore, aims to enhance the educational infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for students.

Project Implementation and Funding

The executing agency will soon initiate the tender process, and the work will be carried out by Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL) utilizing their corporate social responsibility (CSR) fund. Chief Development Officer Prakhar Kumar Singh stated that the buildings of primary schools will be given a new form through construction, while schools lacking basic facilities will see the development of necessary resources.

Focus on Modern Facilities

Special attention will be given to the modernization of classrooms, toilets, drinking water, electricity, furniture, and smart classes. These improvements are intended to create a more conducive learning environment for students, thereby increasing attendance and reducing dropout rates. The government's objective extends beyond construction to improving the overall quality of education, ensuring that children from rural and backward areas also have access to urban-level educational facilities.
