The controversy surrounding actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar over the film 'Don 3' has been making headlines, especially after the 'Dhurandhar' star exited the project. Now, FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) president BN Tiwari has reacted to comments made by CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes' Association) president Poonam Dhillon. Tiwari stated that he had already contacted her and even requested her assistance in resolving the issue if she had a personal connection with Ranveer.
Poonam Dhillon's Initial Remarks
During an interview with HTCity, Poonam Dhillon shared that she does not have all the details and therefore does not want to offer an uninformed opinion. She expressed that the FWICE should have taken CINTAA into confidence since they are affiliated organizations and could have helped resolve the matter. Dhillon remarked, "Banning is a very strong word for any actor, especially a hardworking boy, a role model who has made it big on his own talent."
Lack of Communication from the Artiste
Dhillon also pointed out that typically, an artiste reaches out to CINTAA to help resolve such disputes. However, in this case, no one contacted them, and they only learned about the issue through media reports. She added, "Normally the artiste reaches out to us and asks us to be party to resolving the dispute, but in this case the artiste didn't do so. We were not aware and got to know from the media, which is not the right way to go about it."
BN Tiwari's Response
FWICE president BN Tiwari reacted to Poonam Dhillon's comments by stating that he had already written a letter to her, asking her to mediate in the issue if she knew Ranveer well. He also mentioned that they had received letters from the director's association and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, requesting support for the 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' actor in his capacity as a filmmaker. Tiwari said, "I had written a letter to her (Poonam Dhillon) that if she knows Ranveer well, she should mediate and solve this matter. Though, this is not her department. We had received a letter from the director's association and by Ashoke Pandit to help Farhan in the capacity of a filmmaker."
Clarification on Meetings and Calls
Tiwari added that it is not possible to call every association for meetings. He also revealed that he tried calling Poonam after her comments, but she did not answer his calls. He emphasized that the FWICE is not imposing a ban on Ranveer Singh. Instead, the federation only wants the actor to come forward and explain his side of the story. Tiwari clarified, "All we said is we will not work with Ranveer till he shares his version of the case." He also welcomed anyone willing to help solve the matter to come forward.
