Two Held with Illegal Weapons in Jalalabad

The Fazilka police have arrested two individuals, including a minor, and seized four imported pistols, magazines, and seven live cartridges in the Jalalabad subdivision. The arrests were made during a patrol operation on the link road between Sukhera Bodla and Fattu Wala villages.

Details of the Arrest

Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Tarun Rattan stated that a CIA staff team spotted two suspicious persons on the link road. When the suspects saw the police, they attempted to flee but were chased and apprehended. A search led to the recovery of four illegal pistols, magazines, and seven live cartridges.

The accused have been identified as Harnek Singh, alias Neki, and a 16-year-old boy, both residents of Fattu Wala village. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the weapons were allegedly smuggled from Pakistan using drones.

Legal Action

A case under the Arms Act has been registered against the accused. The police are investigating the smuggling network and possible links to other individuals involved in the illegal arms trade.
