East Coast Railway Announces 132 Holi Special Trains for Smooth Festive Travel
In preparation for the upcoming Holi and Dola Purnima festivals, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has unveiled plans to operate 132 special trains from its jurisdiction. This initiative aims to facilitate smooth and comfortable travel for the increased number of passengers expected during this festive period. Additionally, 150 more Holi special trains originating from various parts of the country will pass through ECoR stations, significantly boosting connectivity and convenience for travelers.
Enhanced Passenger Movement During Festive Season
Passenger movement typically surges during Holi and Dola Purnima as people travel to celebrate with family members and friends. To accommodate this heightened demand, the special trains will be operational from the last week of February until the end of March. This extended schedule ensures that travelers have ample options for their journeys, reducing overcrowding and enhancing overall travel experience.
Key Routes for Holi Special Trains
The majority of the special trains will run on several crucial rail routes, including:
- Bhubaneswar to Yesvantpur
- Bhubaneswar to Dhanbad
- Sambalpur to Erode
- Puri to Patna
- Visakhapatnam to Tirupati
- Visakhapatnam to Shalimar
These routes are strategically selected to connect major cities and regions, catering to the diverse travel needs of passengers during the festivals.
Comprehensive Arrangements for Festive Rush
According to an official statement issued by ECoR on Saturday, the railways has made extensive arrangements at major stations under its jurisdiction to manage the anticipated festive rush. To ensure safety and order, additional Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and commercial staff have been deployed at key stations. Their roles include guiding passengers and maintaining discipline to prevent any disruptions.
Focus on Hygiene and Cleanliness
In addition to security measures, ECoR is prioritizing hygiene and cleanliness during the festive season. Cleaning drives will be conducted regularly at stations and onboard the special trains to maintain a sanitary environment for travelers. This proactive approach aims to enhance passenger comfort and well-being amidst the increased footfall.
Overall, the East Coast Railway's initiative reflects a commitment to providing efficient and pleasant travel experiences during the Holi and Dola Purnima festivals, with a total of 282 special trains—132 from ECoR and 150 passing through—set to serve passengers across its network.
