External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with 17 journalists from European countries in New Delhi on Friday, focusing on India's domestic growth and strengthening ties with Europe. The meeting covered India's profound transformations, the current state of global flux, and growing convergences between India and Europe.

He spoke at length about significant changes underway across India and discussed the world's current state of flux, emphasizing India's perspective on global stability. The minister highlighted increasing alignment and shared interests between India and Europe.
Jaishankar's Remarks
In a post on X, Jaishankar stated: "A pleasure to interact with a group of journalists from various European countries, today in Delhi. Spoke to them about the profound transformations underway in India, the current state of flux the world is in, and the growing convergences between India & Europe." He expressed optimism that the journalists' direct engagements and travels in India would foster a more nuanced appreciation of India's development and promote a deeper understanding of India and the potential of the India-Europe partnership.
Participating Countries
The 17 European countries represented were Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, and Spain. The meeting included Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal and Assistant Secretary Pooja Kapoor among others.

Earlier on Friday, BJP National President Nitin Nabin interacted with mission heads of European Union member countries under the party's KNOW BJP initiative. Representatives from Slovakia, Romania, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, Ireland, and EU Ambassador to India Herve Delphin attended. The BJP said the interaction aimed to familiarize the diplomatic community with the party's journey, ideology, organizational structure, governance model, and ongoing activities.
In June, Nepal's Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane visited BJP headquarters as part of the Know BJP initiative, which was launched by former BJP President JP Nadda on the party's 43rd foundation day in 2023.
