Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to arrive in Tehran on Saturday for discussions with Iranian officials regarding the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, as reported by ISNA, citing Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaiel Baghaei.

Discussions with Iranian Leaders

In an exclusive interview with ISNA, Baghaei confirmed that Naqvi will arrive at noon on Saturday to hold consultations on the MoU. The Pakistani minister is expected to meet with his Iranian counterpart, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Meanwhile, the Persian Gulf Strait Authority announced on Saturday that requests for passage through the Strait of Hormuz can be submitted for the specified time period. The authority stated on X that vessels complying with necessary requirements will be granted passage during the announced timeframe.

Lebanon Situation

The fragile peace in Lebanon has been shattered by fresh Israeli strikes, resulting in the deaths of five people, including two minors and one Lebanese soldier, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA). These strikes may further complicate the peace process amid the recently signed Iran-US MoU.

MoU Provisions

The 14-point MoU between the US and Iran includes an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations, including in Lebanon, and a commitment to conclude negotiations on a final deal within 60 days, extendable by mutual consent.

Controversial Remarks by Israeli Minister

On Friday, Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir made inflammatory remarks on X, calling for intensified military actions in Lebanon. He wrote, "For every tear of an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers must weep. All of Lebanon must burn!" These comments have drawn widespread condemnation.

Ben-Gvir further stated that Israel must make it clear to the world that the security of its citizens is not forfeit, adding, "All of Lebanon must burn."
