Buidco Implements Strict Deadlines to Address Patna's Monsoon Waterlogging Crisis
The Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Buidco) has established rigorous timelines to mitigate waterlogging issues in Patna ahead of the impending monsoon season. In a decisive move, officials have been directed to ensure all new drainage pumping stations (DPS) are fully operational by April 30, while all maintenance and repair works must be conclusively finished by May 15.

Specific Directives Issued for Pre-Monsoon Works
MD Animesh Kumar Parashar issued explicit instructions to prioritize and expedite all pre-monsoon preparations. He mandated that following the cleaning, repair, and maintenance of all sump houses and pumping stations, the concerned executive officers must personally inspect the sites to verify system functionality and readiness.

PMC's Comprehensive Drainage Strategy
The Patna Municipal Corporation has proactively identified all vulnerable waterlogging spots across the city and formulated a detailed drainage strategy to ensure rapid evacuation of rainwater. PMC authorities are also ensuring that ongoing projects by any agency do not exacerbate drainage problems or lead to water accumulation, demonstrating a coordinated approach to urban infrastructure management.
Wide Participation in Planning Session
The monsoon preparedness meeting saw participation from key officials including Additional Municipal Commissioner Rajan Sinha, all executive officers and executive engineers of PMC, along with project directors, deputy project directors, and assistant project directors of Buidco for Patna district.
