Accident Causes Major Traffic Disruption

A speeding Endeavour SUV lost control and rammed a Tata Magic car near Jharsa Chowk on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway around 1:30 pm on June 25, 2026, triggering a 4-kilometer traffic jam that lasted nearly an hour.

The incident occurred when the white Endeavour suddenly broke down while in motion, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the Tata Magic traveling ahead. Eyewitnesses reported that the impact completely damaged the front section of the SUV, leaving it stranded in the middle of the road.

Fortunately, the Endeavour's airbags deployed during the collision, which prevented any major casualties or severe damage to the occupants. The accident scene quickly became chaotic as hundreds of vehicles were caught in the resulting congestion, inconveniencing motorists for about an hour.

Gurugram traffic police personnel arrived promptly after receiving information about the incident and took charge of the situation. A crane was brought in to remove the damaged vehicle from the expressway, and after nearly an hour of effort, smooth traffic flow was restored.

Police Statement on the Incident

Inspector Manoj Kumar, SHO of traffic-II, stated, “The accident took place due to the sudden breakdown of the SUV. Our traffic police team reached the spot immediately, but it took some time to remove the vehicle from the road, which caused traffic congestion.”

The police personally oversaw the restoration of traffic flow, ensuring that the expressway returned to normal operations as quickly as possible. No injuries were reported, and the involved vehicles were towed away for further investigation.
