Gadchiroli Hosts Intensive Training for Landmark 2027 Digital Census
A comprehensive three-day training program for 40 field trainers, preparing for the inaugural phase of India's groundbreaking 2027 digital census, successfully concluded at the district planning hall in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. This pivotal initiative, jointly organized by the Census Directorate based in Mumbai and the Gadchiroli collector's office, was conducted from April 6 to April 8, marking a significant step toward modernizing national data collection.
Transition to a Fully Paperless Census Operation
The 2027 census represents a historic shift as it will be executed entirely in a digital, paperless mode. This innovative approach aims to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and environmental sustainability. The trained field trainers are tasked with a crucial role: they will subsequently conduct training sessions for enumerators and supervisors at the taluka level across the region, ensuring a seamless rollout of the digital methodology.
Expert Guidance and Leadership
The training sessions were led by distinguished officials who served as principal resource persons. Jogendra Tamgadge, Assistant Director at the Census Directorate in Mumbai, and Hemant Mohre, Naib Tehsildar, provided in-depth insights and technical expertise. Additionally, Ashish Wankhede, Resident Deputy Collector and District Census Officer, along with Santosh Ashtiker, Tehsildar, offered guidance and addressed queries from participants, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Emphasis on Accuracy and Responsibility
At the closing ceremony, Collector Avishyant Panda delivered a compelling address, urging the field trainers to approach their taluka-level training with utmost precision and a strong sense of duty. He underscored that accurate recording of every data unit is paramount in a digitally conducted census, as it forms the foundation for reliable national statistics and informed policy-making. Panda highlighted the transformative potential of this digital transition in streamlining processes and reducing errors associated with traditional paper-based methods.
The successful completion of this training program in Gadchiroli sets a positive precedent for the nationwide implementation of the 2027 digital census, showcasing Maharashtra's proactive efforts in adopting advanced technological solutions for governance and public administration.
