Accompanied by former mayor and president of Shantai Vrudhashram, Vijay More, along with his wife Maria Vijay More, MLC Hattiholi took the opportunity to commend their relentless and devoted efforts. He specifically appreciated the More family's unwavering dedication to caring for the Ashram's inmates, noting how their personal involvement has been instrumental in maintaining high standards of welfare.
Established in 1998, Shantai Vrudhashram is a non-profit old-age home founded and managed by social worker Vijay More. It offers free shelter to numerous elderly individuals, relying entirely on donations from generous benefactors. Currently, the facility houses 27 residents, comprising 22 women and five men, supported by a dedicated team of seven staff members.

During his thorough inspection of the premises, MLC Hattiholi engaged directly with the inmates, observing the facilities firsthand. He expressed great satisfaction with the cleanliness and well-maintained surroundings, emphasizing the spirit of seva (selfless service) that permeates the Ashram's operations. MLC Hattiholi mentioned that Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar is well-aware of the noble work being carried out at Shantai Vrudhashram and has also appreciated these efforts. In a significant assurance, he pledged to extend his support whenever required, particularly committing to assist in the construction of a new building at the Ashram. This promise underscores his dedication to enhancing the infrastructure for elderly care in the region.
