Deputy Commissioner Conducts Surprise Inspection
Following directives from the Haryana government, local administrative officers in Narnaul have intensified field visits to inspect progress on pre-monsoon preparations. Deputy Commissioner Anupama Anjali carried out a surprise inspection of parts of the city on Saturday to evaluate the cleaning of the sewerage system and drains.
Officials Directed to Expedite Work
Anjali instructed concerned officials to expedite and streamline the cleaning process. She emphasized the Chief Minister's clear instructions that the sanitation system in all towns and cities must be in perfect condition before monsoon to prevent waterlogging. She warned that strict action would be taken against any official found allowing manual cleaning of sewerage lines.
Comprehensive Action Plan Developed
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the district administration has formulated a comprehensive action plan to effectively monitor the sanitation system. To ensure prompt cleaning of drains and sewerage systems across the district, IAS and HCS officers have been appointed as nodal officers with fixed accountability for specific areas.
Nodal Officers to Submit Reports by June 30
All officers will visit their assigned areas to closely inspect cleaning and desilting work. Any deficiencies found must be rectified promptly. Nodal officers are required to submit detailed reports to the Deputy Commissioner's office by June 30. These reports will be compiled and sent to the state government for further action.
SDM Inspects Municipal Wards
Meanwhile, Narnaul SDM Anirudh Yadav also reviewed preparations to protect the city from waterlogging and seasonal diseases ahead of the monsoon. He visited several wards within the Narnaul Municipal Council area to inspect the cleaning of small and large drains and sewer lines. Yadav asserted that thorough cleaning must be completed before the rainy season begins.
