Located within Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's Dhuri assembly constituency in Sangrur district, Palasaur village is undergoing a remarkable transformation into a model village. This initiative focuses on integrating technology-driven surveillance, enhancing educational and healthcare facilities, and executing a significant infrastructure project to widen the Palasaur–Rupaheri road, all aimed at improving connectivity and civic amenities for residents.
Enhanced Security and Digital Learning Initiatives
To bolster security and maintain law and order, authorities have installed 49 CCTV cameras across Palasaur village, providing comprehensive surveillance coverage. In the education sector, the government school has been equipped with two projectors to promote digital learning, fostering a more interactive and modern educational environment. Additionally, new washrooms have been constructed to address basic amenities, ensuring better hygiene and comfort for students.
Infrastructure and Community Development Projects
Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh highlighted the sustained development efforts, emphasizing the construction of a modern library at an approximate cost of Rs 20 lakh. This facility is designed to offer students and youth a conducive environment for study and competitive exam preparation. On the infrastructure front, a major project involves widening the 6.3-km-long Palasaur–Rupaheri road from 10 feet to 18 feet, with an investment of around Rs 3.4 crore. This upgrade is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and ease transportation for villagers.
Further improvements include the widening of the village circular road (phirni) and the development of a park to create enhanced community spaces, promoting social interaction and recreational activities.
Healthcare and Civic Amenities Upgrades
In a boost to the healthcare sector, a new dispensary has been constructed in Palasaur village, providing accessible medical services to residents. Addressing a long-pending issue, the village drain has been made operational, effectively resolving water drainage problems and improving overall sanitation.
