A tragic car crash in the early hours of Wednesday claimed two lives and left another person in critical condition in south Delhi. The collision occurred near the Siri Fort area, sending shockwaves through the locality.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to the police, the incident was reported around 4:20 am on August Kranti Marg. A car, which was travelling from the direction of the Panchsheel Flyover towards Andrews Ganj, allegedly rammed into a taxi. The taxi was in the process of taking a right turn towards Balbir Saxena Marg at the time of the impact.
The force of the collision was severe, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The taxi had three occupants inside, all of whom sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Aftermath and Police Action
All three injured individuals from the taxi were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre as they were unidentified at the time. Medical professionals at the centre declared two of the victims brought dead. The third occupant remains in a critical condition and is currently undergoing intensive treatment.
Police have confirmed that post-mortem examinations of the deceased are being conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death. The driver of the car that caused the accident has been identified and apprehended. He is Krishansh Kapoor (21), a resident of Udai Park. A formal case has been registered against him under the relevant sections of the law.
