Lucknow: The Ambedkar Nagar murders have a chilling backstory of alleged obsession, manipulation, and a property-driven motive, according to police investigations.
The Initial Connection
According to police, Aamir first came in contact with a relative of Gaasiya in early 2025 while helping her buy an automatic washing machine from Lucknow. Through this connection, he was gradually introduced to Gaasiya and her household in the Meeranpur locality.
Building Trust
Officials said that in the prolonged absence of Gaasiya’s husband, who has been working in Saudi Arabia for several years and had married a Pakistani woman, Aamir began frequenting the house and developed close ties with the family. Over time, he started spending extended periods at the residence, gaining the trust of those around him.
The Property Motive
Aamir learnt that the two-storey house was registered in Gaasiya’s name. Police claim that this information became a turning point, after which he began pressuring her for marriage, allegedly with the intention of gaining control over the property.
Escalation and Refusal
Aamir’s friends and the victims’ relatives told police that he had developed a strong intent to marry Gaasiya. The couple had even travelled together to different places in India, a police officer said. However, investigators said Gaasiya was opposed to the proposal. She was focused on securing a stable and bright future for her four children, whose education and expenses were being supported by her husband.
Police believe that her refusal to marry him and resistance to his intentions led to escalating tensions between the two, ultimately leading to the murders.
