Dhubri: Tension Grips Chagolia After Animal Parts Found at Religious Site
Tension erupted in the Chagolia area of Dhubri district on Thursday morning after animal parts were discovered at a religious site. Police swiftly detained a person suspected of involvement in the incident for questioning.
As news spread, residents from nearby villages gathered at the location, staging a protest against the act. Golokganj police circle officer Navajyoti Roy and revenue circle officers arrived at the scene and appealed to the crowd to maintain peace.
In a demonstration against the incident, activists blocked National Highway 17 at Chagolia for approximately one hour. The blockade was lifted after police assured the protesters that strict action would be taken against those responsible.
A police source from the Golokganj police circle confirmed that a suspect has been taken into custody and is being interrogated. The source added that within the next couple of days, more individuals may be apprehended in connection with the case.
