West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands, assuring that the state government is actively acting against criminals. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that the change in government was brought about precisely to establish the rule of law in the state.
Appeal for Faith in Legal Process
"Citizens should not take the law into their own hands. The change in government was brought about to establish the rule of law. People should have faith in the legal process," Adhikari said. His remarks come amid concerns over vigilantism and public unrest in certain parts of the state.
Government Action Against Criminals
The Chief Minister assured that the administration is taking stringent action against criminals and that no one will be allowed to disturb public order. "Our government is committed to ensuring safety and justice for all. We are acting against criminals, and the legal process will take its course," he added.
Adhikari's statement is seen as an attempt to reassure the public while discouraging any form of extrajudicial action. The state has witnessed several incidents of crime in recent months, leading to demands for swift justice.
