A 30-year-old man died by suicide in Bengaluru after his mother asked him to quit drinking, police said on Monday.
Incident Details
The deceased has been identified as Siddaraju, a native of Yadgir. He lived with his mother in the CK Palya area. Siddaraju was unemployed, while his mother worked as a helper at a private school to support the family.
According to the police, on Sunday evening, Siddaraju's mother confronted him about his drinking habit and urged him to stop. An argument ensued, after which Siddaraju locked himself in his room and allegedly consumed poison.
Investigation Underway
When his mother did not hear from him for a while, she broke open the door and found him unconscious. She rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The CK Palya police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the matter. No suicide note was found at the scene, a police officer said.
