Bhilwara: Mother kills kids, attempts suicide

A horrific incident has shaken the community of Manpura town in Bhilwara district, where a mother allegedly took the lives of her two young children before attempting to die by suicide. The tragic event occurred on Sunday evening, sending shockwaves through the local area.

Details of the Manpura Town Tragedy

The accused has been identified as Sanju Devi Teli, the 30-year-old wife of businessman Rajulal. According to the police from the Mandalgadh police station area, she is suspected of brutally murdering her two children: her 10-year-old daughter, Neha, and her six-year-old son, Bheru. Preliminary investigations point to a deeply disturbing motive.

Officials indicate that Sanju Devi was reportedly suffering from an overwhelming fear that she had contracted an incurable disease, such as cancer. This profound anxiety is believed to have driven her to commit the unthinkable act against her own children.

Sequence of Events and Police Investigation

The police report outlines a gruesome sequence. It is alleged that the mother first tried to kill both children by hanging them. When that method did not succeed, she reportedly hit them with an iron rod. A rope was recovered from the scene, which the police confirm she used in her own unsuccessful suicide attempt.

During the attempt to hang herself, the accused fell unconscious and sustained injuries. She was subsequently rushed to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

Mandalgadh station in-charge, Ghanshyam Meena, provided details of the procedural steps taken. "We have registered a murder case against the mother for killing both children and started an investigation. No family dispute has emerged as of now," Meena stated.

Aftermath and Official Proceedings

The police, with assistance from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), meticulously collected evidence from the crime scene in Manpura town. The bodies of the two children were taken to the mortuary at Mandalgadh hospital, where post-mortem examinations were conducted to ascertain the exact causes of death.

The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the full circumstances leading to this family tragedy. The community of Bhilwara is left in mourning, grappling with the loss of two young lives in such devastating circumstances.
